While winning the market, it also laid a good foundation for subsequent development.
As a brand that is good at technology, the sub brands of Chery have naturally inherited this “traditional advantage” and have made positive progress in foreign cooperation while “refining their internal skills”. Then, as the car market competition in 2022 enters the “second half”, what preparations have Chery sub brands represented by Exeed, Jetour and Kaiyi made?
Exeed: Realize full electrification in 2023
As a high-end brand under Chery, Exeed automobile has maintained the new product iteration speed of “new cars every month” this year. From January to June, the accumulated sales volume was 19265, with a year-on-year increase of 46.9%. While the market performance is outstanding, star road motor has also ushered in a series of big moves recently.
First of all, Huang zhaogen, the representative of the young senior management of Chery group, was appointed as the general manager of the Exeed Marketing Center. This can also be seen as Chery group’s efforts to improve the operating efficiency through the optimization of the senior management, enhance the synergy within the group, and lay a more solid foundation for the future breakthrough of the Exeed brand.
After Huang zhaogen took office, Exeed brand recently officially released the service network plan of “double network joint repair” to open the service authority of Chery network in the blank area of Exeed service to meet the needs of Exeed users for convenient services. With the implementation of the plan, the number of service facilities of Exeed brand has rapidly increased from 288 in 255 cities to 435 in 302 cities, and the service network coverage rate will Exeed 88%. At the same time, Exeed brand also proposed the goal of achieving a service network of more than 500 within the year, more than 1000 in the future, and a network coverage rate of more than 95%.
In addition to the wider coverage of the service network, the Exeed brand has also made new progress in new products. At the Mid Year Dealer Business Conference of Exeed brand held on July 18, we also found the first sedan of the brand. According to the product planning of Exeed exposed earlier, its BEV products include a brand-new B-class SD sedan.
Judging from the outline of the new car, it is consistent with the information in the product planning. The front design is similar to the New Atlantis X concept car of Exeed. The roof is also equipped with an obvious lidar, which indicates that this new car will have strong strength in automatic driving.
In addition, the Atlantis X concept car is also planned to be officially launched in Qingdao at the end of this month, and will be launched into the market within the year. At that time, it will also add new growth points to Exeed and help the brand achieve full electrification in 2023.
Jetour: OEM Southeast Target Annual Sales of 150000 Vehicles
As early as March this year, there was a news on the Internet that “Southeast Motor and Chery have reached a gambling agreement and are willing to exchange 80% of their equity for Chery’s technical support and strive to achieve an annual production and sales of 400,000 units within 3-5 years”. Now, with the release of Southeast DX8 plus declaration photos in the 359th batch of Road Motor Vehicle Production Enterprises and Products Announcement issued by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the authenticity of this news has also been confirmed.
According to the cooperation plan between Chery and Southeast China circulated on the Internet, the cooperation between the two sides will be divided into three stages. In 2022, as the first stage, the existing models of Jetour brand will be sold to the domestic and foreign markets through the sales network of Jetour after changing the LOGO of Southeast. At the same time, Chery’s new energy vehicles will also be sold under the Southeast brand, and the goal of preserving qualification and activating the enterprise will finally be realized. The annual sales target is determined to be 24,000 vehicles.
Starting from 2023, the cooperation between the two sides will enter the second stage. With the goal of deepening cooperation and improving the scale, it is planned to put three modified products into production and sell them through domestic and international channels. It produced Southeast brand new energy vehicles or contract Chery vehicles in the Southeast Fujian factory, achieving the annual sales target of 75,000 vehicles.
2024 is the third stage of the cooperation. On the basis of strengthening the base and expanding the industry, Chery will fully manage Southeast Motor. The two sides jointly developed and completed three brand-new models and reached the target of annual sales of 150,000 vehicles. At the same time, the two sides will also build a new factory with an annual capacity of 250,000 units. On this basis, the two sides plan to complete the sales of 3.06 million vehicles in the next 10 years, achieve a revenue of 273 billion RMB, and drive the value of parts and related industries to 217.8 billion RMB, totaling nearly 500 billion RMB.
It is worth mentioning that the first Travel+ conference of Jetour at the beginning of the year, the global launch of the T-X concept car, and the recent Mid Year Business Conference were all held in Fuzhou, which also shows the importance Chery attaches to the cooperation with Southeast Motor. Of course, in addition to accelerating the cooperation with Southeast China, Jetour will also welcome more new products in the second half of the year.
At present, the two product series of Jetour X70 and Jetour X90 have opened up the gap of “Travel +” market segment for Jetour Automobile. As a brand-new thinking of Jetour in the field of rejuvenation, the brand-new vehicle Jetour Dasheng built based on Kunlun architecture will also be officially launched in the third quarter.
The recently exposed hardcore off-road vehicle Jetour T-1 will also be launched in the third quarter of next year. The new vehicle is built on the Kunlun architecture and highly restores the design style of the Jetour T-X concept car. It has 5 seats and 7 seats, and is equipped with 1.6T and 2.0T power. It will also launch hybrid and 4WD models simultaneously to expand the user’s travel experience.
Kaiyi: Join hands with “CATL” to transform electrification
As a sub brand of the early Chery group, Kaiyi automobile has not had a high sense of presence in the market in recent years. The two new models of Xuanjie pro and Xuandu launched last year did not attract enough attention from the market. At this stage, Kaiyi has set a new goal of transformation to new energy.
In June this year, the “Yibin Shidai Kaiyi New Energy Technology Co., Ltd.” jointly established by Kaiyi and CATL was officially unveiled. In the new company, CATL holds 51% of the shares, and Kaiyi automobile holds 49% of the shares. The legal representative is Qu Tao, with a registered capital of 20 million RMB. The company’s business scope includes technical services, recycling and echelon utilization of waste power batteries, battery manufacturing, battery sales, etc., excluding vehicle manufacturing.
At the same time, at the 2022 World Power Battery Conference to be held on July 21, Kaiyi automobile will publicly display the brand-new logo of the enterprise, the new energy vehicle product code “FX12” to be offline this year, and the two A00 micro pure electric models planned to be launched next year. According to the development strategic planning of Kaiyi, in addition to launching a new product this year, at least one new energy vehicle product will be launched every year. By 2025, the proportion of new energy vehicles in the whole series of models will reach 60%.
According to the website of the Trademark Office, Yibin Kaiyi Automobile Co., Ltd. has registered the model name of “Xuanyue”. This name may become the Chinese name of “FX12”. At present, the official photos and camouflage test vehicle of “FX12” have appeared on the network. The new car is positioned as a medium-sized SUV, which will adopt a 7-seat layout. The appearance uses a brand-new family design language. The huge X-shaped air intake grille is equipped with a brand-new LOGO in the center, which is integrated with the headlamp group and the daytime lights. The style is very scientific and technological.
The interior of the new car adopts a minimalist design style. The large-size central control screen of the central control part is slightly inclined to the driver’s side.
